On March 25, 1634 English settlers stepped ashore on St. Clements Island, thus marking the birthplace of Maryland.
Land was purchased from the Wicomico Indians and the new settlement was christened St. Marys.
As the colony grew and prospered, it carved a place in history along Maryland's shores.
Today, guests are invited to celebrate our colonial heritage through interactive museums, interpretive exhibits, historic sites and educational programs
